Thrashers GM Rick Dudley was on Toronto’s Fan590 today to talk about his role in building the Chicago Blackhawks, his approach to the NHL draft combine and the coaching search. He reveals a lot about how he views the role of head coaches and their assistants and goes on to say he’s not really expecting to hire someone before the draft (and explains why).
After the interview the hosts suggested that Chicago’s John Torchetti will be named the Thrashers’ head coach. Adam Portzline from the Columbus Dispatch said the same on Saturday.
Here is the link for the radio piece. The Dudley interview starts about a quarter of the way into the show.
