The full 2010-11 schedule will be unveiled tomorrow but the NHL just sent a list of all of the home openers around for immediate release. Like John Anderson in 2008, the new Thrashers head coach will face the Washington Capitals in his Atlanta debut when the Thrashers host the Capitals on Friday, October 8. In an odd quirk the Thrashers will be the visiting team for three home openers, meaning they’ll play in four of them this season. That’s probably not a great way to start the season as most teams get fired up for their first game in front of their own fans. The Thrashers will play in Tampa on October 9, at LA on the 12 and at San Jose on Oct. 16. That could be a tough little trip.

Maybe we should have hired the head coach BEFORE they released the schedule. Capitals, @ Tampa, @LA and @SJ is a pretty rough start for anyone looking to take the reins.

It’s does look like a tough opening schedule, but we will be there, to root them on Friday night, If they fans get in there and show them some support maybe they will get fired up an break the hearts of all those other fans on there opening night. Remember last year we came out swinging pretty hard, in the the first few weeks. Good luck Thrashers we are rooting for ya.
Has Thrasher management finally listened to the fans and moved starting times back to 7:30-7:40?
Fridays will be at 7:30. Monday through Thursday as well as Saturday games will be at 7. Sunday games vary.
